Setup — EverQuest Legends Log Triggers

Windows

EQ Legends + EQL Alerts on the same box. No Node, Rust, or Git.

Download EQL.Alerts_*_x64-setup.exe from the latest release
Run the installer (current user — no admin)
Start EQL Alerts → Find log (or Choose log…)
Click a class chip to arm that set → open Overlay → enable click-through

Ready when

EQ logging is on (/log on)
Alerts shows your log / character
At least one group or class pack is armed
Overlay open + click-through
EQ windowed or borderless

Log path

C:\Users\Public\Daybreak Game Company\Installed Games\EverQuest Legends\Logs
eqlog_<Character>_<Server>.txt

Example: eqlog_Kenkyo_Freeport.txt

Triggers

First launch loads a Legends starter pack:

EQL Essentials — Core / Combat / Danger / Fades (always available; spammy ones stay off)
Classes — arm with the class chips
EQL Raids — zone → boss packs (Nagafen, Vox, Fear, Hate, Sky, Hole, Kedge, …)

Everything except Essentials starts disabled. Use Reset starter for a clean pack. You can also Import GINA pack… (.gtp / JSON / XML); imported groups stay disabled until you opt in.

Overlay

Matching uses the line after the timestamp. Display tokens: {C} character name, {S} full action text.

Fixes

Problem	Try
No log	Choose log… with the path above
No alerts firing	Logging on? Group / class chips armed? Search text matches after the timestamp
Overlay blocks mouse	`Ctrl+Alt+L`
Fake buff timers	Legends permanent buffs are stripped — Reset starter or re-import
SmartScreen warning	More info → Run anyway (unsigned installer until OV signing)

Mac + Parallels

No Mac installer. Releases are Windows-only. Clone and run from source while EQ is in the VM.

Keep the VM up so C: stays mounted under /Volumes
Click Auto-detect log (or Choose log… under the Parallels Logs path)
Arm triggers → Overlay → Cmd+Alt+L for click-through

Typical path: /Volumes/[C] Windows 11.hidden/Users/Public/Daybreak Game Company/Installed Games/EverQuest Legends/Logs/
